Altrincham Garrick 15th May 2010

Having been severely disappointed with the last few productions at the Garrick, and I am afraid I haven't even written about them, this was a joy. Four fishwives head off to Ladies Day at York. Simple of that. Women behaving badly and strong friendships. Clash of cultures and classes but done with great warmth and simplicity and some beautiful and imaginative touches. An uncluttered and very effective set with crystal clear porjections of the racing, with a couple of great scene changes. Very spirited acting, and it all led to an all round entertaining evening - at last. Not a production I felt embarrassd about at all. I would have recommended it to others. Well done guys, well gals.
