No not the battle but an ABBA tribute band at the garrick. I would usually not really notice such evenings but ABBA, well you doesn't like a good bit of ABBA, and this nine piece group were actually sensational. They did rather charge hrough the more racous numbers with an excess of energy but then sand Chiquitita as I have never heard it sung before. They sang it so simply with gorgeous harmonies and unforced and devestatingly emotional. I did well up, i'm ashamed to say. Simply beautiful and oh what a great song that is. And then they saved some of the biggies till last and the whole theatre was up and dancing to Super trouper and such. Can you really mock something that sends a full house home beaming their socks off, exhausted from dancing and singing. I for one can't.Well done to this group who worked so hard and did look as if they were having as much fun as we were.
