Just been down to see an early matinee of the Garick panto that I designed. Id not seen it since the dress run and it really is in cracking form. I think it is certainly one of the best I've seen there as it has an overall look and feel - the snow theme is carried on all the way through, and yes even though it has been snowing non stop for the last week, to have it snow heavily in the auditorium gets everyone leaping about with excitement. This panto is almost two shows, with the Snow White Story and the front cloth scenes and lazzi, which work well. There was trouble with the sound this afternoon which was a shame, but the cast weren't showing any signs of fatigue or having lived with al this since early November. The audience had great fun, enjoying the local references which weren't the usual cynical TV based one, though an X-Factor one did creep. It's a heavy committment for the comapny but they are doing magnificently.
