Modelling Clay

Postby Bornhauser » Wed Oct 18, 2006 9:49 pm

Hi together,

I would like to ask you, whitch brand of clay you prefer for modelling and skulpturing. I'm modelling fine detail charakters for animations and for illustrations and I wonder if there is a favorite adress to get the clay from.

Thanks, Christian Bornhauser.

Good clay

Hi Christian,

there is a very good swiss brand of clay that I like to use. It's called "Modela" and is made by the company Caran'd'Ache.
The clay is oilbased, but not as shiny as childrens clay. And the best thing is, they have an excellent skin color ("salmon").

You can take a look at the gallery at my website, the santa clause puppet is made from Caran'd'Ache clay.
